Ive been coughing up this hard mucous stuff, havent necessarily had a cold. and my eyes and eyes get goopy too?

the mucous is usualy really hard and its hard to cough up. i dont have a cough though. My right ear seems to have had a lot more waxy stuff in it more than usual. and for the past couple months, also,my eye lids have been getting really dry and almost flaky? i dont know if that is apart of whats wrong with my mucous. but those are my symptoms. and all the doctor has given me in nasonex.
