Can a Person still be preppy if they listen to Doom Metal?

If a person wears all preppy clothing (ralph lauren, top-siders, slacks) and all that every day, very much lives a preppy New England lifestyle (pre-law at a small New England private College, has a preppy gf, and preppy friends) but only listens to doom metal such as electric wizard, sleep, warhorse, sons of otis, etc. Are they still Prep? It seems like that taste in music and being Prep should be mutually exclusive.
