HP Deskjet 3740 Printer, can we print without colour catridge?

I use this HP Deskjet 3740 Printer. I need only black and white print and as of now, colou catridge is also empty. Can i take out the colour catridge and print only with B&W catridge? There is no harm ofr the printer, if i do this, right?
