Looking for term for this type of business?

There was a series of companies in the 90's which worked by having people market goods online and they would take a cut. For example, person A might hand out business cards with the URL a href="http://www.example.com/9333" rel="nofollow"http://www.example.com/9333/a and Person B would have a href="http://www.example.com/1234" rel="nofollow"http://www.example.com/1234/a -- these would both be identical pages (storefronts), but if you bought from Person A's page, then person A gets commission. It's NOT Multilevel Marketing (MLM) or a Pyramid Scheme, because those are groups of people selling down a chain. This is one company with one storefront that actually sells and ships, they just let anyone be an independent salesperson always referring back to the company. It's always just household products i.e. soap, energy drinks, etc. I know there's a specific term for this style of business but I've forgotten what it was.
